FaxDash is a product of The X Chapter LLC, a California limited liability company (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the FaxDash mobile application, website at faxdash.io, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Name and email address (provided during registration or via Google/Apple sign-in)
- Authentication credentials (managed securely via our authentication service)
Fax Content
- Documents you scan, upload, or receive through the Service
- Fax metadata: sender/recipient numbers, timestamps, page counts, delivery status
- Cover page content you create
- Signatures and watermarks you add to documents
Device & Usage Information
- Device type, operating system, and app version
- Push notification tokens
- Usage patterns (features used, fax history)
Payment Information
Purchases are processed through Apple App Store and Google Play. We do not directly collect or store your credit card or payment details. We receive transaction confirmations and entitlement data from these platforms.
Support & Feedback
- Information you provide when submitting bug reports, feature requests, or support tickets
- Device and app context included with feedback submissions
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Service: sending, receiving, and managing faxes
- To process documents through our scanning and enhancement pipeline
- To deliver push notifications about fax status and received faxes
- To manage your account, credits, and subscriptions
- To respond to support requests and feedback
- To improve the Service and develop new features
- To prevent fraud and ensure security
4. How We Store Your Data
All data is stored exclusively in the United States using Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. Documents and faxes are stored in encrypted S3 buckets. User data is stored in DynamoDB with encryption at rest. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256).
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Telnyx — Our fax transmission provider, which receives documents and fax numbers necessary to send and receive faxes on your behalf
- Amazon Web Services — Our cloud infrastructure provider for data storage and processing
- Apple / Google — For in-app purchase processing and subscription management
- Law enforcement — When required by law, court order, or to protect safety
6. Data Retention
- Fax documents: Retained while your account is active. You may delete individual documents at any time.
- Vault documents: Retained according to your vault settings with immutable audit trails.
- Account data: Retained until you request account deletion.
- Fax metadata: Retained for your transaction history and audit purposes.
7. Your Rights
You may:
- Access and download your data through the app
- Delete individual documents and faxes
- Request full account deletion by contacting us
- Opt out of push notifications via device settings
California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what data we collect and the right to request deletion. Contact us to exercise these rights.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted storage, secure authentication with JWT tokens, HTTPS for all communications, and access controls on our infrastructure. While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
10. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app or on our website. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
